River Bend Counseling Center
Why River Bend?
From the moment you contact us, you will notice we prioritize initial assessment to ensure a good fit and the right blend of services. When you call us, we will do our best to understand the challenges facing you before you even step in the door. During the initial evaluation session, we identify key factors contributing to the challenges and collaborate on a plan. We have extensive training in individual, systemic and developmental assessment, which allows us to navigate complex challenges with clear conceptualization and concrete steps for families to pursue. Our clients say having joint goals and strategies is reassuring as they face difficulties. Because not everyone who is seeking to grow and better themselves is doing so due to clinical level mental health difficulties, we offer coaching and organizational consulting as well as therapy.
Therapy

We take a family-centered approach, addressing mental health needs within the family system to navigate complex dynamics. We tailor treatment using behavioral, family, cognitive behavioral, play, and expressive therapies to meet your families needs.
Couples
Focus on enhancing communication, resolving conflicts, and fostering deeper connections between partners. Using evidence-based approaches, we tailor the process to support both partners' growth and the overall health of the relationship.

Coaching or Therapy?
If you are seeking support in creating a life that even more matches your values, and you want someone to challenge you and help you or your organization move forward, you may be looking for coaching not therapy. Coaching is generally provided for people with a high level of achievement and functionality, but who recognize the value of personal growth and the degree to which their inner world affects their outer realities. Everyone is anxious or depressed at some point, particularly when we need to adjust our approach to living, so having these normative challenges works well within a coaching framework. However, if you feel like struggling to function, have a sense of being overwhelmed, have a diagnosed SMI, or have thoughts of death, a therapy approach is a better fit.
