Alyssa Gilster is passionate about supporting others to live their most authentic lives, in line with their goals and values. She aims to provide a space for healing and growth that includes collaboration, authenticity, acceptance, curiosity, and creativity.
Alyssa utilizes an integrative approach, using a variety of evidence-based modalities–such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused–in order to allow every individual the opportunity to find a technique that is suited for their growth. Additionally, she is trained in Brainspotting, a therapeutic technique designed to help individuals process and heal from trauma and emotional distress. She has experience working with individuals from all ages, as they navigate the challenges they face, including life transitions, anxiety, depression, OCD, self-esteem, trauma, and more. Alyssa has a commitment to empowering clients by recognizing and nurturing their strengths and supporting them in reaching their full potential.
Alyssa received her Masters in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a focus on behavioral and mental health, as well as a certificate in Trauma-Informed Care. She has worked in various mental health settings at different levels of care, from outpatient settings to residential treatment. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring Milwaukee.
